COURSE POLICIES


Registration Policy

Payment in full is required to reserve your spot in the course. Tuition is non-transferable and is payable by check, credit card, PayPal or money order. Tuition covers class materials, course equipment, and certificate or certification cards. Sergeant Rescue is not obligated to allow any student to attend a course until the required payment and course registration materials are received and approved by Sergeant Rescue Training & Consulting staff.



Cancelation, Withdraw & Refund Policy

If a student cancels or withdrawals from a course:

- If greater than or equal to 45 days prior to the starting date of the course, Sergeant Rescue 

  will retain a $150.00 administrative fee.

- If equal to or less that 45 days prior to the starting date of the course, tuition is

  non-refundable and non-transferable.

-  Participants that cancel or withdraw from a course are still responsible for cancelation fees even if payment has not been sent or processed. (Applies if you cancel within 45 days of a course.)


A full refund will be given if we need to cancel the course for any reason.


Late Payment Policy

Participants that register and choose pay via company check or personal check must submit payment in a timely manner. Payment is due no later than 10 business days after your registrations is submitted. If payment is not post marked prior to this date a late fee will be assessed. Late fees will either be invoiced separately or added to any outstanding balance.
- Initial late fee is $25.00
- An additional fee of $15.00 per week will also be assessed if payment is delayed past 14 days from registration.



Weapons Policy

Law Enforcement Officers (LEO) and Tactical EMS team members that are part of a team that allows you to carry a firearm, may bring your department issued weapons to the course for use. Weapons will be cleared and safe at the beginning of class. No live ammunition will be allowed on your person during the course. No other personal weapons or firearms are authorized. 


 Lodging


No onsite lodging is available for this event.



Hotels


There are several hotels near Spring Mills, PA within a 5-25 minute drive from the training site. Average cost per night is $100.00.

Amenities


There are many great restaurants in the State College and Bellefonte area, both local and chain. There are also multiple grocery stores within a 10 minute drive from the training area.


Students are encouraged to plan to have lunch at the class location all days of the course.


Some meals will be provided throughout the course. Students will be made aware what meals the day prior at a minimum

COURSE SCHEDULE

Travel Arrangements


University Park Airport is the local airport. There are multiple rental car dealers at the airport, Enterprise, Hertz, Etc.


Arrival

If flying or driving from outside the local area please plan to arrive Friday 24 March 2019.


Departure

Class will dismiss at 1500 on Friday. The exam will end at 1200 on Saturday. We encourage those wishing to fly that flight arrangements be made to depart Sunday or Monday.

Course Cost : $1275.00 


The Tactical Medical Support Provider Course(TEMS) is designed to take the paramedic or EMT and advance their knowledge and preparedness to allow them to safely engage in tactical team support and the treatment of both Law Enforcement, the public and assailants.


This course will teach the latest in TECC/TCCC techniques and doctrine, while also presenting the unique challenges the provider will face to effectively support Tactical Law Enforcement teams. This five day training program will prepare you to not only be a tactical provider, but also will help you become an effective member of any tactical team.


The course start time each day will be 0700 and begin with a moderate physical fitness program. Participants will be expected to jog, carry gear, wear tactical PPE, and perform tactical related physical tasks during this time. The rest of the day will either be lecture, hands on learning, or scenario based training. 


Day four of the program will be the long day. Break and ample rest will be provided. Students will not be released form the training site that day. This is the FTX portion of the course and will push the participant to the breaking point! 


Participants will also be afforded the opportunity to take the IBSC Tactical Paramedic or IBSC Tactical Responder Exam. That exam is tentatively scheduled for 30 March 2019. Cost of the exam is $275 per person wishing to take  the exam. It is highly encouraged that you do so! 


Course Prerequisites
1. Must be EMT / Paramedic qualified or higher. 

Highly Encouraged to Have
1. Previous TECC / TCCC Training
2. Be associated to a tactical team or organization. 
3. At least 2 years of EMS or Law Enforcement Experience. 


*This is a highly physically demanding course. You are expected to participate in all physical activities and scenarios.*

Tactical Paramedic & Tactical Responder Exam Information


The International Board of Specialty Certifications Tactical Paramedic or Tactical Responder Exam is designed to test the knowledge necessary to operate as a tactical medical provider for special operations unit. Both exams are 100 questions in length. To sit for the Tactical Paramedic exam you must have an active state of national registry Paramedic credential. Everyone else wishing to take the exam will take the Tactical Responder exam. The exam you are sitting for through our local option will be the paper & pencil exam format. Results will take approximately 4-6 weeks to be mailed to you. However, depending on the number of exams occurring at the same time as ours, that timeframe may be shorter.
