Rope / High Angle Rescue 6

Date:  12-13 January 2019

Location: Centre County Fire Training Center, Pleasant Gap PA

Cost: $75.00 


The Rope / High Angle Rescue 5 course is entirely scenario based. Students are expected to perform skills from the preceding 6 rope rescue courses and work as a team to complete the necessary rope rescue scenarios safely. The course will stress team work, communication, and address the challenges of rope rescue in the dark while operating in austere environments. This class will take place over the weekend and over night. Students should plan to stay in the field. This course will begin at 1200 and end at 1200 the next day. This class is designed to be conducted in austere and less than ideal environments. Plan to be in the field for 24 hours regardless of weather.

Student Equipment: 
- Helmet with Chinstrap  (Climbing or Rescue Preferred over structural)
- Leather Gloves
- Water Source
- Eye Protection
- Boots
- Backpack (Will need to carry food and water for 24 hours. As well as clothing and sleeping gear for in the field camping.) 

- Clothing appropriate for working in cold & wet environments.

- Class III Full Body Harness

A limited number of Class III full body harnesses will be available for rent. Harness rental fee is $35.00 for the course.

COURSE 7


Rope / High Angle Rescue 5

Location: Centre County Fire Training Center, Pleasant Gap PA

Cost: $75.00

COURSE 4


Advanced Rigging for Rope Rescue

Date:  24-26 August 2018

Location: Centre Count Fire Training Center, Pleasant Gap PA

Cost: $75.00 


Participants in this course will apply more advanced rigging and equipment used to implement vertical rescues along with basic skills developed in Rope / High Angle Rescue 1 & 2, to several field scenario problems. This course will also cover complex anchor systems and complex mechanical systems. Students will become more proficient with their skills and more confident in the abilities for technical rigging situations. This is a 20 hour course that will start Friday evening and end Sunday afternoon.


Required Student Equipment: 

- Helmet with Chinstrap  (Climbing or Rescue Preferred over structural)

- Leather Gloves

- Water Source

- Eye Protection

- Boots

- Back pack (Must be able to carry gear, food for the day & water.)

- Class III Full Body Harness

COURSE 2 


Rope / High Angle Rescue 1

Date:  21-22 July 2018

Location: Centre County Fire Training Center, Pleasant Gap PA

Cost: $50.00 


Students in this course will be introduced to the various types of rope and related rescue equipment. Students learn to tie basic knots and hitches used in rope rescue, basic rappelling techniques, tie-offs, self-rescue, basic litter tie-ins, and basic litter handling skills. Much of the program is hands-on, and time is allotted for practice in order to build proficiency.

- Helmet with Chinstrap  (Climbing or Rescue Preferred over structural)
- Leather Gloves
- Water Source
- Eye Protection
- Boots

- Class III Full Body Harness

Participants in this course will be introduced to more advanced rigging and equipment used to implement vertical rescues along with basic skills developed in Rope / High Angle Rescue 1 & 2. Students will become more proficient with their skills.

COURSE 3 


Rope / High Angle Rescue 2

Date:  11-12 August 2018

Location: Centre County Fire Training Center, Pleasant Gap PA

Cost: $50.00 


Students in this course will be re-introduced to the various types of rescue equipment. Students will be trained in mechanical advantage systems, safeties, basic ascending, basic rappelling technique and tie-offs with a rappel rack, rope changes, and one person rescue. The student will perform a low angle raise and lower evolution simulating patient transport on embankments. Most of the program is hands-on, and time is allotted for practice in order to build proficiency.

COURSE POLICIES


Registration Policy


Payment in full is required to reserve your spot in the course. Tuition is non-transferable and is payable by check, credit card, PayPal or money order. Tuition covers class materials, course equipment use & replacement, and participant certificate or certification cards. Sergeant Rescue, CPI or Bucks County Community College is not obligated to allow any student to attend a course until the required payment and course registration materials are received and approved by Sergeant Rescue Training & Consulting staff.



Harness & Harness Rental Policy


A Class III full body harness is required for specific rope rescue training courses listed above. Pursuant to the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy's training policy, all participants are required to have and use a serviceable full body harness. Harness rental is first come first serve. If you wish to reserve a harness please email us at, Sergeant_RescueTng@outlook.com. Please provide what course you are reserving a harness for. Harness rental is $35.00 per training course. Upon arrival you will sign a harness rental agreement prior to receiving a harness.



Cancelation, Withdraw & Refund Policy


To cancel out of or withdraw from a course you must contact our staff via email or phone. If you do cancel or withdraw from a course understand that your seat maybe given to someone on the course waitlist. To re-register for a course you must complete a new course registration and pay for your seat again.


Due to the nature of the registration process for this course, once fully registered your tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions can be made for this.


A full refund will be given if we need to cancel the course for any reason.



Wait List Policy


We anticipate a waitlist for many of these courses. Space is limited to 30 participants per training program. The course payment selection will be removed once the course is filled. You will be notified if you are placed on the wait list. If an opening occurs you will be notified by order of registration received. If you accept the seat a link for payment will be sent to you.



Late Payment Policy


Participants that register and choose pay via company check or personal check must submit payment in a timely manner. Payment is due no later than 10 days after your registrations is submitted. If payment is not post marked prior to this date a late fee will be assessed. Late fees will either be invoiced separately or added to any outstanding balance.
- Initial late fee is $25.00
- An additional fee of $15.00 per week will also be assessed if payment is delayed past 14 days from registration.

Rope / High Angle Rescue 4

Date:  6-7 October 2018

Location: Centre County Fire Training Center, Pleasant Gap PA

Cost: $50.00


Participants of this class will be introduced to the rigging and operation of high lines. Students will be provided the equipment used to implement highline rope rescue, and will be taught how to safely construct and manage a high line rescue operation.

COURSE 1


Basic Rigging for Rope Rescue


Date: 23-24 June 2018 

Location: Centre County Fire Training Center, Pleasant Gap PA

Cost:   $50.00


This course is designed for personnel whose duties require training in basic rope rescue knowledge’s and skills, but not in rappelling. Students are introduced to rope construction, rope characteristics, rope hardware and various knots and hitches. They will participate in patient packaging and stokes litter handling exercises, and will be trained in practical haul systems and their uses.

In partnership with Bucks County Community College and the Center County Emergency Services Training Center, we proudly bring you the Basic Rope Rescue Training Series. The series meets the minimum standards for application and testing to the PA Rope Technician level. This is a 5 course series that will run from April to June. Tuition cost covers wear and tear on provided equipment and course registration fees.
